Founded to Provide Quality Medical Services With a Heart
Southeast Alabama Rural Health Associates (SARHA) was established in 1983 when members of the communities of Dozier and Clayton, Alabama, became concerned about the lack of medical care in their areas. A grant was written, and the birth of SARHA included the Dozier Family Health Center in Crenshaw County and the Clayton Family Health Center in Barbour County.
The private, non-profit corporation has experienced significant growth since that time. It now includes ten facilities in eight counties, a twenty-six member medical staff that provides care to over 35,000 patients. SARHA is based on a private practice model but sees all patients without regard to their ability to pay. SARHA delivers the highest standard of care and has been recognized by the Joint Commission for its efforts.
SARHA currently employs over 150 people and is growing to better serve all area residents through additional services and sites in the upcoming year. Several new facilities have been added. SARHA's commitment to providing high-quality health services to all residents of southeast Alabama is unwavering.
